The low-down on my April tour

I had a real Minnesota adventure in April! It began with snow and wind and when it was over 4 weeks later I drove home to Alabama in my cargo shorts and sandals. Some high points were getting to spend time with former synod president, Pastor Emeritus Karl Gurgel, and wife and playing for St. Matthew's in Winona where he is serving a vacancy. I stayed with Pastor and Ruth Jansen in their lovely home on the side of a mountain overlooking the Mississippi, as deer dropped by in the backyard there in Fountain City, Wisconsin. It was wonderful to spend time with so many "old" friends. Even when I haven't seen folks for years, when we get together it feels as though we just saw each other last week. One way to tell that I've been doing this for ten years now is that it's getting pretty rare for me to play at a church where I haven't already played. This recent trip to Minnesota was all churches where I'd been at least once before! I thank God that I'm being allowed to sing my songs in our WELS and ELS churches because I love my "work!"
There are some pictures of this trip on my "Photos" page.
